What can you see in this paint spatter?

This is how I start each painting, with a spatter of paint colors. I was looking for an image of a winter spirit and landscape.

I diluted the paint with water to achieve a feeling of transparency and lightness. The colors are pale, but more vibrant in comparison to each other. What at first appears as greys soon reveals a whole spectrum of colors.

See the next blog post to see what images I found there. Or start from the beginning of the process here.

You can see the finished piece here.

What do you think the colors of winter are?
