A Look into the Process of Creating “Winter’s Icy Breath”

Here you can see a sneak peek of the painting, “Winter’s Icy Breath”. This was the first figure I found in the paint spatter, and is a great place to start out a journey through the creation of this painting.

It is part of my Muse series. When I started this piece, I knew I wanted to depict each of the four seasons. For this color spatter, so light in color, it was really just variations of whites and greys, winter seemed the natural fit for it. I knew I was looking for some nature spirit and sure enough, she showed up here.

You can see the next step in the creative process here.

What image comes to mind for you when you think of winter?
