Winter’s Icy Breath: Unveiling the Completed Painting

A detail for the blog cover from the painting, "Winter's Icy Breath", by Melani Grube wherein an otherworldly being blows an icy fog about, in violets, blues and greys, touching creatures and foliage alike with its chill.

I hope you like it, it’s my completed painting, “Winter’s Icy Breath”.

This painting started out with finding the face of winter, a strange, female energy-being and her breath fogging out and touching each exposed creature.

These creatures represent nature, but they also represent our natures. We adapt to a changing world on an ongoing basis. The thick muffled environment of winter will also change and move on to a flurry of activity and exuberance in the spring. But in the meantime, let us slow and ponder and examine the larger forms supporting the surface details of our lives. Let us be moved and gain perspective.

And when spring does come, let our priorities be realigned and let us move with the balance and grace gained from our winter sojourn.

Enjoy your winter.
