I’m so excited! I met with Tyler White, the manager at Pause Coffee in Fair Oaks, CA and he has invited me to collaborate with them and put on a solo show of my artwork.

This is incredible because it will allow you to see the original pieces in person, which is a completely different experience from seeing them via the internet or in print form.

Seeing the art set in a frame, displayed in a room, in person, allows you to see the subtle play of light reflecting from the carbon crystal pastels that I use. And you can see the dimensional quality of the heavy paper floated on the matting. The artwork comes alive in person.

I really hope you can make the opening reception. I will be there to greet you and personally show you around. And Pause Coffee has locally sourced, fine quality coffees and teas, that you’ll enjoy at a discount at the reception. What a great community and vibe Pause Coffee has created. I am so stoked to have found them!

So, my solo show (yeah, it needs a name, still) will be up for the month of September. The opening reception date hasn’t been set, yet, but I’ll be posting updates.

There will also be a couple Open Studio dates tied into this, as well. September 15th and 16th, the 13th Annual Sac Open Studios Tour is happening and I’m participating this year. This is a weekend where artists open up their studios to visitors who can follow a map of all the artists participating. I’ll be making Pause Coffee my studio for the weekend and have all kinds of artwork to show you, the framed pieces already on display, and a behind the scenes look at the artwork that has yet to be framed. I’ll also have prints and note cards available. I will even be doing some live sketching sessions.
