See All That Happened at the Open Studio Party
Welcome to Dreamland!
Thank you to all who made it to my Open Studio Party, “Welcome to Dreamland”. You made Dreamland a reality. I could not have imagined a more delightful Open Studio/Solo Show.
Seeing all the artwork displayed on the wall together was amazing. I have never seen it together in a cohesive grouping and the sum of the parts formed something more than a grouping of paintings: it became a world of its own, Dreamland before my eyes.
Pause Coffee House, thank you for all your support and the exhibit space that made this possible.

Visiting with friends, old and new, was incredible. Your love and support humbled me and filled me with gratitude. How am I so lucky? This is what made Dreamland magical.
And before I go any further, please let me thank my Open Studio Managers: Desiree Neumann, Linda Abraham, and Robin Rodriguez. Without your support, encouragement, retail and photo skills, I couldn’t have done this. You made it happen.

One regret: I wish I had taken a picture with each of my guests. I’m making a note of that for next year.
MaryTess Mayall and Brooke Abrames of Blue Line Arts have been amazing friends and constant supporters. They caught an early preview of the show. The paintings, “Breaching and Reaching” and “Wild Horses” can be seen in the background. Thank you, MaryTess Mayall for contributing this picture to this event journal.
Thank you for collecting my original art. I’m thrilled that award-winning “Skelly Ball” has found a new home with the adept and amazing chiropractor Jeff Keon (pictured here). Starting in October 2018, once this show ends, you will be able to see “Skelly Ball” displayed at his offices, Touch Chiropractic.

Warm and friendly Laura Halen and I re-connected at the Open Studio. What a lovely side benefit of having an event like this.

I’m so pleased that these paintings speak to you, as much as they do to me.
Want to know some fun facts about the event? :
- More than 60 people attended! An awesome number for my very first Open Studio and Solo Show ever.
- The most experienced attendee was 88 years old and the youngest was 2 years old.
- And a big congratulations goes out to 2 attendees and their spouses who will give birth soon! Congratulations!!
- We even had a little pup visit our exhibit, very apt, coincidentally, since “Year of the Dog” was the new painting I worked on for my demonstration at the Open Studio. (See the demonstration here .)
Thank you to Pamela Trump for capturing me with some of my paintings on display. Pictured here (left to right): Dancer in Shadow (print), Skelly Ball, Skelly Wedding (below and partially hidden behind me), Skelly Jazz, Woman in a Red Raspberry Beret (on top), and Afternoon, Revisited (below).
Thank you to Carol Adler for this great capture of me with some of my artwork at the Open Studio. The paintings that you can see in the background are: “Woman in a Red Raspberry Beret” and “Afternoon, Revisited” (they are not true to life color in this photo).
The good news is that if you missed the Open Studio, you can still see my paintings in person, since they will be on display until the end of September at Pause Coffee House (8121 Madison Ave., Suite A-1, Fair Oaks, CA).
Do you have photos or comments of your own to add to this event journal?
Please send them to me. I would love to add them in.
Oh, what a marvelous, magical happening! I am so grateful to have witnessed a part of it!
Thank you so much, Dear Desiree, for acting as one of my Open Studio Managers. You were an awesome support and encourager and a dear, dear friend.
