I love this woodland scene with filtered sunlight and shimmering shadows. The goddess Gaia leans over with her golden hair floating around her as she picks up a golden spark of light. I like to gaze at it and spend some time in it, with all the birds, butterflies and flowers. There is even a scattering of mushrooms. Can you see it?

This original painting was rendered using the finest acrylic pigment paints, pen and ink, and carbon crystal pastels. The carbon crystal pastels reflect light due to their crystalline nature, unlike chalk pastels, which results in a dimensional quality in the image. The crystalline effect cannot be reproduced, it can only be viewed in the original piece.
