Celebrate with the Skellies!
I’m amazed to share with you that my painting, Skelly Jazz, a Best in Show Award!
I hadn’t entered any shows for a while, but thought that this painting fit in with the theme for this show, “Roaring in the 20’s”.
It just goes to show you that putting in the effort, even during a pandemic, can really pay off! I never really thought I would get a Best of Show.
The exhibit, highlighting the 1920’s and the 2020’s, was shown at the Mills Station Arts & Culture Center, in Rancho Cordova, California.
The Skellies and I are pleased as punch!
You will be able to see Skelly Jazz at my Open Studio, Saturday and Sunday, September 19th and 20th (2020). It will be VIRTUAL, so no matter where you are, you can tune in… as long as you have an internet connection, of course. This will be part of a month long event, Sac Open Studios, put on by the Verge Center for the Arts. See more about the Open Studio HERE.
The “Roaring in the 20’s” exhibit was judged by Mallorie Marsh, Associate Director of Education at the Crocker Art Museum.
I was honored to be featured in the Grapevine Independent Newspaper, as well. It’s an actual print newspaper published in Carmichael, CA.
